IAS topper 2012 Priyanka Niranjan in an interview to Kunal Jha of jagranjosh.com gives valuable tips on how to crack IAS interview. In her opinion, the candidate should continuously do preparation for IAS interview. She underscores the importance of communication skills for getting success in interview.
Moreover, Priyanka defines interview as a personality test and emphasizes that someone’s personality can’t be cultivated in a single day; rather it’s a continuous process. She advises candidates to maintain a balanced attitude on any current issue along with a positive attitude towards interview board. The candidate should have a basic knowledge of his/her Bio-data and should maintain etiquette while answering questions asked by the board.
Significantly, Priyanka provides details of her IAS interview and the type of questions asked in the interview. Her interview was with the David Sindhia’s board. It lasted around 35-40 minutes.
Since Priyanka was working as a BDO she was asked questions on rural development. She was also asked questions from Economics because it was her subject in Post Graduation. She also faced questions on Sanskrit subject which was one of her optional subjects in IAS Main Exam.
