IIT-Gandhinagar students to get Global exposure

To add a feather in the cap of the prestigious IIT, Gandhinagar (Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar), it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with global conglomerate Nielsen, which would provide opportunities internationally for its undergraduate students.  Nielsen has agreed to give away Nielsen Awards every year to the eligible graduate students from the Gandhinagar IIT and allow them to participate in international conferences, attend workshops and provide global internships for a better career.

To encourage the young minds and provide a suitable platform to showcase their talents on a worldwide arena Nielsen has joined hands with IIT-Gandhinagar. According to Nielsen sources, if the potential talent in the premier institution can be tapped and used to the fullest by grooming and nurturing the crude talent, it might offer a huge pool of talent and produce future industry leaders.

Those students who would get shortlisted each year would get an opportunity to interact with senior executives of Nielsen and would learn under the mentorship during their overseas visit and global internships. The IIT- Gandhinagar has already propelled its infrastructure to higher levels. It has incorporated visiting faculties form abroad and has provided diversity in the educational division of the campus. This move from the institution would further help the students to get better opportunities in the increasingly globalized world.

The undergraduate students would undergo an experience of a lifetime through the proposed awards by Nielsen and it could generate international opportunities for fresh graduates on the completion of their courses.

The selection of the students would be based on a screening for internships by the faculty. The Nielsen Company would assist the selected students to undergo their internships and learn the facets of the professional world.
