•    RBI panel headed by headed by Usha Thorat presented the panel’s suggestion on non-banking finance company
•    CRISIL launched the first gold index in India.
•    West Bengal Government Imposed Higher taxes on Alcohol and Tobacco.

30 August
•    Data released by the Central Statistics Office showed growth in the April-June quarter of the current financial year 2011-12 stood at 7.7%.
•    Appointments committee of the Cabinet cleared the names of three senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers as the head of three paramilitary organisations namely ITBP, BSF & SSB.
•    Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved disinvestment of 5 per cent of its stake in power equipment maker BHEL.
•    The Bihar Government Decided to Impose Professional Tax on all Salaried Persons.
•    MP Government decided to Reward Informers on Sex-determination Test.

31 August
•    Thirty-five Indian companies are ranked among the top 200 Asia-Pacific corporations in Forbes Asia's Best Under a Billion list for 2011.
•    The Allahabad High Court Set Aside Acquisition of Land by the Uttar Pradesh Government in Mathura District.

1 September
•    State-run Steel Authority of India (SAIL) announced the appointment of Anil Kumar Chaudhary as its director, finance.
•    Enforcement Directorate informed the Supre Court that companies involved in the 2G spectrum scam had violated the FEMA to the tune of Rs 10,000 crore.
•    Calcutta judge Soumitra Sen resigned.
•    Assam Government Decided to Undertake Adult Vaccination against Japanese Encephalitis.

2 September
•    Veteran journalist Kalyan K. Chaudhuri died.
•    Kapil Sibal released a commemorative Postage Stamp on Surendra Nath Jauhar, noted freedom fighter, social worker, industrialist and philanthropist.
•    Meghalaya Government ordered an inquiry into the alleged mass graves in areas in West Garo Hills district.
•    Chhattisgarh State Government Filed a Petition in the SC Over Polavaram Dam.

3 September
•    Union government released a list of assets owned by Union ministers.
•    Former Davis Cupper and India’s first national tennis champion Sumant Misra died on 3 September 2011.
•    The Chhattisgarh government has brought into force a rule which prohibits failing a student throughout primary school years.

4 September

•    Indore Topped the list in Madhya Pradesh under the National Cleanliness Policy 2008 Survey.
