Applications are invited from UNMARRIED male candidates for filling up of 85 vacancies through Permanent Commission/Short Service Commission 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES) Jul-2012.

Important Dates

  • Opening date for online application: 20 September 2011
  • Last date for sending application: 30 November 2011
  • Last date for sending receipt of application: 10 December 2011
  • Course commencing from: July 2012
  • SSB Interview: February/ March 2012 onwards

Eligibility Criteria: The criteria for applying for Technical Entry Scheme (TES) in Indian Army are as follows:

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible to apply for this entry.
  • Age Limit: Minimum 16.5 years, maximum 19.5 years on 1st day of the month in which the course is commencing.
  • Sex and Marital Status: only unmarried male candidates are eligible for the entry.
  • Physical Standard: Minimum Height 152 cm and weight 42 kg., better eye 6/6 and worst eye 6/18.

Duration of the Course: Selected candidates will be trained for a period of 4 years of basic Military Training and Technical Training.

Grant of Commission: On successful completion of 4 years of training, cadets will be commissioned in the of Lt. They will be granted seniority on overall order of merit of the three technical institutes combined i.e., CME, MCTE, MCEME and in case the date of commissioning conincides with that of IMA, Dehradun, they will be placed en- block junior to IMA (NDA/ ACC/ DE Course) but above TGC/ UES course.

Selection Procedure: The selection procedure is as follows.

  • Initial screening/ Short listing of applications based on qualifications of the candidates. Shortlisted candidates will be called for Service Selection Board (SSB) interview at Bhopal, Bangalore, or Allahabad.
  • Psychological Test
  • Group Test
  • Interview
  • Final Selection as per the order of merit

Stipend: The candidates will be paid a stipend of Rs 21, 000 per month (Rs 15, 000 as pay in Pay Band plus Grade Pay of Rs 5, 400) as is admissible to NDA cadets on completion of 3 years training.

How to Apply: The eligible candidates have to apply online through http://www.joinindianarmy.nic.in/  After submission of online application candidates are required to take two print outs of the application and roll number generated by the system. Send one copy of the print out application form duly signed and affix a recent passport size photograph duly attested by a gazetted officer, along with attested copies of required essentials and enclosures to Additional Directorate General of Recruiting (Rtg-6), TES Section, West Block-III, R K Puram, New Delhi-110066.

Note: Another copy of the print out application form can be kept for future reference (SSB Interview).
