Indian Oil issued notification for recruitment of Graduate Engineers as Officers/ Graduate Apprentice Engineers (GAEs) in the following engineering disciplines:
• Civil Engineering (excluding Construction/ Environmental/ Transportation Engineering)
• Chemical Engineering (including Petrochemicals Engineering)
• Computer Science & Information Technology ( excluding information & communications Technology)
• Electrical Engineering ( including Electrical & Electronics engineering but excluding Electrical & Communication / Telecommunication engineering)
• Instrumentation Engineering (Including Electronics & Instrumentation engineering but excluding Electronics & Communication engineering / Telecommunication engineering)
• Mechanical Engineering (excluding Production/ Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering)
• Metallurgical Engineering
Interested candidates are required to appear for GATE 2013, for their respective discipline.

Selection Procedure:
On the basis of marks obtained in GATE-2013, candidates would be shortlisted for Group Discussion/Group Task and/or Personal Interview for assessment of different facets of knowledge, skill, attitude and aptitude.
(NOTE: Only GATE-2013 score is valid for this recruitment exercise. GATE score of 2012 or prior to that is not valid.)
Candidates will have to qualify through each stage of selection process for final selection.
Age Limit (as on 30 June 2013):
Maximum: 26 years (for general category candidates)

Educational Qualification
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering/ technology in any of the above mentioned disciplines (full time regular courses only) from recognized Indian Universities / Institutes.
• Qualified a degree examinations with minimum 60 % marks (for Gen and OBC-NC candidates) / ‘pass’ for SC/ ST / PWD candidates.
• Candidates in final year of engineering can apply. If selected, they would be required to submit final mark sheet by 31/08/2013.
• Candidates pursuing/ completed M.Tech. in any disciplines, other than mentioned above, should have completed their BE/ B.Tech in one of the above disciplines and must take GATE-2013 examination in the discipline of their B.Tech.
• Candidates with Integrated ME/ M.Tech would be eligible, if they have completed the course requirement for BE/ B.Tech in one of the advertised disciplines and will be completing their ME/ M.Tech in 2013. If selected, they should have acquired both BE/B.Tech and ME/M.Tech degree.
Training and Placement
Selected candidates shall have all-India transfer liability and may be posted to any Division / Unit / Subsidiary Company / Office of the Corporation.
[Candidates will have to execute a bond of Rs.300000 (Rs.50000 for SC/ST/OBC & PH candidates) to serve IOCL for a minimum period of three years from the date of joining /date of appointment as Engineer in case of GAEs after successful completion of training.]
Remuneration Package
Engineers/ Officers: Basic pay of Rs.24900 per month + Dearness Allowance (DA) + other allowances, as per the rules of the Corporation.
The Cost-to-Company (CTC) will be between Rs 9.30 and Rs.9.90 lakh per annum inclusive of performance related pay (PRP). The actual CTC will vary depending on place of posting.
Graduate Apprentice Engineers (GAEs): Consolidated stipend of Rs.35000 per month (for an year apprenticeship training). On successful completion of apprenticeship training, they would be appointed as officers in the pay scale mentioned above.

On receipt of GATE-2013 Registration number, candidates can apply to Indian Oil on-line. The relevant link will be made available from 10th December 2012 on corporation’s website www.iocl.com.

• The candidates must have an active e-mail id as all communication with the candidates will take place through email only.
• The candidates should have the relevant documents like percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination, caste/sub-caste certificate, date of issue, name of issuing authority, state of origin, etc. readily available with them before they commence the ONLINE application process. This information will be required at thetime of filling-in the ONLINE application.
• A candidate can apply in one discipline only. Candidates applying in more than one discipline will not be considered.
• Candidates need not to pay any separate application fee to Indian Oil.
