Indian School of Business (ISB) has the highest number of women students in the class of 2015 for Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), when compared to other premier management colleges in India and past batches.
The female constitutes 30% of the strength in the class of 2015 batch of the PGP in ISB by marking a total of 231 women in the class size. The statement released by the school informed that this is highest number they have attained ever since the school started inspecting the ratio, 13 years ago.
The class of 2015 has a total number of 763 students, 553 from Hyderabad and 210 for Mohali. The gender ratio is 30:70 where females are 30% and males are 70%. The average age of student came out to be 27 and possess 5 years of work experience, as mentioned in the statement.
The statement further brought into light that female participants at the ISB has steadily been increasing and have now rose by close to 120% in the past 7 years.
ISB Deputy Dean Savita Mahajan calling it a heartening development said that the increasing participation of females in choosing management as a career will go a long way in fulfilling and reducing the gender diversity in many sectors.
