Jawaharlal Nehru University’s school of Computational and Integrative Sciences is soon to conduct the annual Bioinformatics National Certificate Examination Bioinformatics exam in February 2013.
The Certificate examination will be conducted on 23 and 24 February 2013 at nine centers across India, which are JNU, Anna University Chennai, Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology Bangalore, University of Hyderabad, University of Kerela in Thiruvanthapuram, University of Pune, Calcutta University, Assam Agriculture University in Guwahati, and North-Eastern Hill University in Shillong.
The objective of the examination is to primarily encourage Science, Engineering and Technology graduates/post graduates to pursue the Ph.D. programmes in Bioinformatics with DBT research fellowships, which are at par with UGC/CSIR/ICMR funding agencies and to pursue Ph.D at Indian institutes/universities.
The DTU (Delhi Technological University) will also be offering a bevy of new courses in the next academic year including M Tech in Biomedical, M Tech in Industrial Bio-Technology and M Tech in Hydraulic and Water Resources. The university will also be starting a dual degree programme in B Tech and MBA.
The university has also decided to create one seat in every undergraduate engineering programme, for admission to the Central/State Board topper. And most importantly, the number of Ph.D. fellowships will also be doubled from fifty to hundred.
