Karnataka University Notified Recruitment for 15 Posts of Assistant Librarian 2014

Karnataka University, Dharwad invited applications from eligible candidates fulfilling the requisite criteria for filling up the posts of “Assistant Librarian” in the Karnataka University/ Library/Constituent Colleges/Post Graduate Centers. The candidates eligible for the post may apply on or before 23 July 2014.

Name of Post: Assistant Librarian

No. of Posts: 15 (Fifteen).           

Educational Qualification 

Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks from a recognized University or Institutionand a consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library.

Pay Scale: Rs. 15,600/- to Rs. 39,100/- plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000/- Per Month.

Application Fee 

Application Fee (Non- refundable) of Rs. 600/- (Six Hundred only) (Rs. 300/- for SC/ ST/ Cat – I candidates)drawn in favour of the “Finance Officer, Karnataka University, Dharwad – 580 003”, payable at K.U. Campus, Dharwad.

Selection Procedure

The short listed candidates will be selected on the basis of performance in the Written Test/ Trade Test/ Practical Test/ Skill Test/ Personal Interview, which might be conducted by the administration.

How to Apply 

Interested candidates may apply in the set of Eight prescribed forms with complete Bio- data along with the attested copies of testimonials/ certificates relating to educational qualifications, date of birth, experience, category (SC/ ST/ OBC), etc.  and a recent passport size photograph should be affixed on the application(if reqd.) may be forwarded to the “Registrar, Karnatak University, Dharwad-580 003” through Registered AD Post on or before 23 July 2014.

Candidate will get set of Eight Application form in person by submitting the payment of Rs. 400/- in the form of Challan drawn in the State Bank of India/ Syndicate Bank, K.U. Campus, Dharwad or collect it by post duly sending a self- addressed stamped envelope affixing postal stamp of Rs. 50/- along with crossed Demand Draft of RS. 400/- drawn in favour of the “Finance Officer, Karnataka University, Dharwad – 580 003”, payable at K.U. Campus, Dharwad. Candidates will be on probation for a period of two years according to the rules of the University.
