About Board
The Council of Higher Education, Manipur was established in the year 1992 under the provision of the Manipur Higher Secondary Act, and prior to the establishment of the council, +2 courses in the state was conducted by the board of secondary education. The council conducted the higher secondary examination, 1993 as its first public examination. There are various universities and institutions under the educational board. For instance, Manipur University was established on 5th June 1980 and it was converted into a central university in 2005.The university campus of Manipur University is spread across 287 acres. The university has 72 colleges affiliated to its board and one constituent college. The HSC examinations are conducted in more than 29 centres and the students in past years have increasing on a large scale.
