National Institute of Technology Nagaland (NIT Nagaland) invited applications for recruitment of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor, Technical & Library staff. The candidates eligible for the post can apply through prescribed format on or before 28 February 2014. NIT Nagaland is a higher education technology institute. It is one of the 30 National Institutes of Technology and was set up by the Government of India in 2009, as part of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan (2007–2012) for imparting technical education in the state of Nagaland.

Age limit

• Candidate’s age should not exceed 30 years for Technical Assistant & Assistant Professor on contract basis.
• Candidate’s age should not exceed 27 years for Workshop Technician, Laboratory Assistant, Workshop Attendant, Library Assistant & Library Attendant.
• Candidate’s age should not exceed 35 years for Assistant Librarian & Assistant Professor.
• Candidate’s age should not exceed 45 years for Deputy Librarian.

Educational Qualification  

Candidate should have PhD Degree for all faculty posts, M. E. / M. Tech Degree for Associate Professor on contract basis, Master Degree in Sciences in relevant subject or equivalent grade for Technical Assistant, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering for Workshop Technician, B.Sc Degree in relevant discipline for Laboratory Assistant,12^th passed with ITI or equivalent for Workshop Attendant, Master Degree in Library Science or Information Science or Documentation with CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale or at least 60% of the marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the UGC seven point scale and a consistent good academic record for Deputy Librarian & Assistant Librarian, Bachelor Degree in Library Science or Information Science or Documentation Science or equivalent professional degree with CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale or at least 60% marks for Library Assistant and 12^th passed or equivalent for Library Attendant.

Pay Scale

• Professor: PB-4, Rs.37,400 – 67,000/- + AGP Rs. 10,000/-
• Associate Professor: PB-4, Rs.37,400 – 67,000/- + AGP Rs. 9,000/-
• Assistant Professor: PB-3, Rs.15,600 – 39,100/- + AGP Rs. 8,000 /Rs.7,000 / Rs. 6,000/-
• Technical Assistant: PB-2, Rs.9,300 - 34,800/- + GP of Rs.4,200/-
• Workshop Technician: PB-1, Rs.5,200 - 20,200/- + GP of Rs.2,000/-
• Laboratory Assistant: PB-1, Rs.5,200 - 20,200/- + GP of Rs.2,000/-
• Workshop Attendant: PB-1, Rs.5,200 - 20,200/- + GP of Rs.1,800/-
• Deputy Librarian: PB-3, Rs.15,600 - 39,100/- + GP Rs. 8,000/-

Application fee

Candidates will be required to pay application fee of Rs. 600/- (Rs.300/- in case of SC/ST candidates) in the form of Crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of “The Director, National Institute of Technology Nagaland” payable at the Chumukedima, Dimapur from any Nationalized Bank.

Selection Procedure

Selection of candidates shall be made on the basis of interview.
