North Eastern Hill University, Shillong invited applications from the eligible candidates for filling up the following below mentioned positions in different DBT funded projects under Prof. P. Tandon and Prof. N. K. Chrungoo in the Centre for Advanced Studies in Botany. The positions are purely temporary for the duration of the project. (A) Project Title : “Establishment of a DBT Centre at NEHU for empowerment of North Eastern Human Resource for Biotechnology Activities”
1. Name of Post: “Research Associate (RA)”

(B) Project Title: “Establishment of State level Biotech Hub under special programme for NER”
2. Name of Post: “Junior Research Fellow (JRF)”
No. of Posts: 01 (One).
3. Name of Post: “Lab Attendant”
No. of Posts: 01 (One).
Educational Qualification:
- For Post 1:
Ph. D degree in Botany/ Zoology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Agriculture Sciences/ Life Sciences.
- For Post 2 :
M. Sc. Degree in Botany/ Zoology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Agriculture/ Life Sciences with a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination (NET/ GATE/ BINC candidates will be given preference).
- For Post 3:
Tenth (10th) pass from recoganised Board or equivalent with 03 (three) years experience in laboratory/ field work.
Age Limit & Relaxation:
Age Limit for the candidate sould be 35 years for post 1, 30 years for post 2 to 5 & 7 and 27 years for post 6 & 8.
Pay Scale/ Emolument:
- Emoluments should be Rs. 22,000/- Per Month plus HRA as per NEHU rules for post 1.
- Emoluments should be Rs. 12,000/- Per Month for the first and second year and Rs. 14,000/- Per Month for the third year plus HRA as per NEHU rules for non NET/ GATE/ BINC candidates and Rs. 16,000/- Per Month for the First and Second year and Rs. 18,000/- Per Month for the Third year plus HRA as per NEHU rules for NET/ GATE/ BINC candidates for post 2.
- Emoluments should be Rs. 6,000/- Per Month plus 15% HRA for post 3.
