Parents expressed concern over safety of children at school in Manipal Area

    In a School of Manipal, on Monday, protests for 2 hours were held by angry parents in front of the school furious about “negligent attitude of school management and principal towards school children” after the incidence of alleged molestation of school kid of age 3, by two bus attendants. The two accused bus attendants were arrested on Sunday, while the incident is said to have taken place on 16th September.

    The protest was for the demand of the security measures such as proper transportation system, CCTV Cameras etc, to be added by school management to guarantee safety of their children, while they are in the school premises.

    MLA Pramod Madhwaraj arrived on the scene to end the protest that began at 9.am. , he successfully calmed and consoled the parent’s furore assuring them to take appropriate actionafter conducting a probe in the matter by the Deputy Commissioner. He also said, “If the school is found guilty of not taking proper security measures, its licence would be suspended”. Mr. Madhwaraj also promised to think about the idea of the parents to appoint a traffic constable at Manipal Head Post Office Junction Road.
