Relaxation for girls in DU cutoff

    Admission process in the Delhi University started and getting admission in DU colleges is getting tougher every year. Few colleges have announced relaxation to the female candidates as per their addition eligibility criteria. This information is recently updated on the website of Delhi University.

    Some college of Delhi University including Dyal Singh, Swami Shraddhanand, Deen Dayal Upadhaya and Bhim Rao Ambedkar are offering three percent relaxation for the girls who have applied for different four year undergraduate courses. In addition, Dyal Singh (evening) and Shivaji offer five percent relaxation to girls.

    According to I.S. Bakshi, principal of the Dyal Singh College, this amendment will promote girl education as from the previous records the percentage of girls in DU were less than 50 percent. And Sashi Nijhawan, principal of the Shivaji College added that according to Primary Census Abstract 2011, 1 out of 10 women is involved in economically productive activity whereas this ration is more for males that is 5 out of 10. Hence, girls' education should be promoted.

    A new course four year undergraduate course is introduced by Delhi university which include 11 foundational courses that will be taught in first two years and involve both students who are seeking pure academic program with the students pursuing vocational courses.
