RPF SI Exam Pattern 2024: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will conduct the online examination and physical test to recruit eligible candidates for the recruitment of RPF (Railway Protection Force) sub inspectors. RPF SI Exam Pattern 2024

The RPF SI exam pattern consists of a three-stage selection procedure, i.e., a computer-based test (CBT), a physical efficiency test (PET), a physical measurement test (PMT) and document verification. RPF SI Exam Pattern for CBT

The first stage of the RPF SI is the CBT. The marks scored in CBT shall be counted for shortlisting of candidates for further stages of this recruitment

  • Total duration of the exam will be 90 minutes and total marks will be 120
  • Each question will carry 1 mark, and no marks will be awarded or deducted for not marking answers.
  • 1/3 marks will be deducted as a penalty for marking wrong option 
  • Normalisation of marks will be done for CBTs held in multiple shifts.
  • Minimum pass percentage for eligibility: UR, EWS and OBC-NCL: 35%, SC & ST - 30%

RPF SI Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Measurement Test (PET and PMT)

Candidates who get shortlisted for the next stage on the basis of their performance in CBT shall now be called for PET and PMT.  The candidates will be to the extent of 10 times the number of vacancies in each
category for Male/Female/Ex-Servicemen as per merit. Ex-servicemen shall be exempted from PET, however, they will have to undergo PMT. There shall be two rounds of PET/PMT. Check the tables below for the criteria of PET and PMT.

  • For the 1600/800 meters event, only one chance will be given. For the remaining events, viz., long jump and high jump, the candidates will be given up to 2 chances each. 
  • Male candidates who do not have minimum height shall not be considered for measurement of chest and shall be treated as disqualified. 
  • All the candidates qualifying in 1600 meters/800 meters will be measured for eligibility with respect to height and chest. Chest measurements will be taken only for male candidates. If a male candidate’s unexpanded chest measurement is below the eligibility limit, expanded measurement shall not be taken, and he shall be treated as disqualified.
  • Candidate who does not have minimum height, chest (unexpanded/expanded), shall be treated as having failed PMT.
  • PET/PMT is qualifying in nature. No marks are to be awarded

RPF SI Document Verification

The candidates will be called for document verification based on their performance in CBT, PMT and PET. Candidates shortlisted for DV will have to submit all their original documents along with two sets of self-attested photocopies at the time of DV. Further, these candidates should upload the scanned copies (in true colour) of their photo and signature  before their DV date through the portal: https://oirms-ir.gov.in/rrbdv.
