RRB NTPC Reasoning Syllabus 2024: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) is the most important exam for the candidates who want to serve Indian Railways. In the RRB NTPC exam, questions will be asked from subjects such as General Awareness, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning.

RRB NTPC Reasoning Syllabus 2024: Verbal Reasoning Important Topics

In the verbal reasoning section, the topics covered are analogy, coding-decoding, blood relations, blood relations syllogism, etc. Check below the list of topics and types of questions that can be asked.

Analogy: Identifying relationships between pairs of words or figures and the types of questions included in this synonym-analogy, number-based analogy, and alphabet-based analogy.

Example Question:

Ques. Find the pair that follows the same logic: Pen : Write :: Knife : ?

Ques. Find the pair that follows the same logic: CEGI : AGEK : : DFHJ : ?

Coding-Decoding: It has questions based on certain coded language and it includes letter coding, number coding, and substitution coding.

Example Question:

If "APPLE" is coded as "ELPPA," how is "ORANGE" coded?

Blood Relations: In this, the questions are related to family relations and require an understanding of terms like cousin, niece, nephew, etc.

Example Question: Pointing to a man, a woman says, "He is the son of my brother." How is the man related to the woman?

Syllogism: In this topic, questions are related to logical arguments and statements are usually written on “All,” “Some,” or “None.”

Example Question: All cats are animals. Some animals are dogs. Conclusions?

Puzzle-Based Problems: In this topic, arrangement-based questions will be   such as seating arrangements, floor arrangements, and scheduling problems.

Example: In these, there will be a scenario given, and based on that scenario, candidates have to make arrangements and answer questions being asked about those arrangements.

Direction Sense Test: In this topic, questions involve the movement of a person or thing in a certain direction. 

Example Question: A person walks 10m north, then 20m east. How far and in which direction is he from the starting point?

The nonverbal reasoning section involves answering questions that are being asked on certain images, diagrams and forms instead of words.
