Space Pavilion to be opened at CUSAT

    In a function the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre Director MC Dathan said that the ultimate goal of scientific research should be the benefit of mankind as well as nature. Dathan dedicated the Space Pavilion of Indian Space Research Organization and Vikram Sarabhai Spcae Centre (VSSC) at Centre for Science in Society (C-SiS), Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kalamassery.

    The Vice Chancellor of CUSAT, Dr J Letha further opined that a concentrated effort should be undertaken by the university authorities, so that they can obtain patents for all the scientific findings of these universities through their research and development activities.

    In the pavilion there were famous sculptures of renowned scientists like Aryabhatta and Bhaskaracharya were showcased. There were various models of rockets and artificial satellites present in the pavilion which are launched till date by ISRO. This pavilion would get used for the mid-summer Science Talent and Total Capacity Development Programme, which is going to be organized by C-SiS for the holistic learning experience of school children in the field of science and technology.
