The University of East Anglia is all set to launch its very first international writing program with a course that will kick start in India in 2013.
The University is in all mood to run a creative writing course in Kolkata, led by award-winning author and UEA professor of contemporary literature Amit Chaudhuri and distinguished novelist Romesh Gunesekara.
The eight days course is aiming at those students who wish to hone their skills as ‘writers’. That purpose would be achieved via a series of workshops, tutorials and lectures. This is for the very first time in India that an international writing initiative is on a look out to be taken.
The course has twenty four seats to it, and begins on 25 March 2013. The deadline for sending in the applications is 30 January 2013. Course fees are Rs 25,000 excluding accommodation.
Applicants worldwide are required to send in a two thousand word sample of their writing, with CV and a reference, to the School of Literature, Drama, and Creative Writing, University of East Anglia, Norwich NR4 7TJ, United Kingdom.
