Next academic session onwards the universities under the administration of University Grants Commission will initiate online admission system. The UGC has recently asked all its universities to make proper arrangements to make this happen by the next academic year.
According to the Chairman of UGC, Ved Prakash, the universities under UGC will have to give top priority to the matter. He has also demanded information regarding the action taken by the universities in this regard to make sure that proper work is being done on time. He has written a letter to all the vice chancellors of the universities under UGC and has said that the progress achieved by the universities will be reviewed in a meeting, which will take place early next month.
In the letter Prakash pointed out that initiating online admission system will not only bring greater efficiency in the overall admission process but will promote transparency in the functioning of various institutions around the country. It will help both students and parents making choices, knowing various prospects of the institutions they are thinking to rope in. The colleges under these universities under UGC will allow students to take admission at various undergraduate and certificate courses through online admission procedure.
