Nearly 68 Lakh students will appear for the UP Board High School and Intermediate exams today, marking the beginning world's biggest school level public examination. The coveted UP Board Exam is being conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Siksha Parishad and will see the participation of 68,21,869 students, including 37,49,977 of high school and 30,71,892 of Intermediate students.
The secondary education minister Balram Yadav claims to have made elaborate arrangements to ensure the free and fair conduct of the board exams in the state. As part of this, sector magistrates at district levels have been nominated to check the menace of cheating and copying at different examination centres in the state. He also informed reporters that all photocopy centres around UP board exam centres will remain closed during the exam period to keep a check on cheating in the examination.
In a first of its kind move, the UP Board of Secondary Education has also launched a mobile application, which will provide the attendance details of students present at the centre on a particular day to the heads of the respective exam centres.
As many as 31 districts have been declared sensitive for the UP Board Exam 2016. The answer sheets provided at exam centres in these districts would bear a serial number code to check instances of cheating. The UP Board has also made repeated appeals to the parents to motivate their wards to stay away from cheating in the exams.
