UPSC Geologist Examination 2013

Union Public Service Commission  invited application for recruitment for the posts of Geologist, Assistant Geologist Grade-I, Jr. Hydrogeologist, Assistant Hydrogeologists through Geologist  Examination 2013. The candidates eligible for the post can apply through online registration before 23 September 2013. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is India's central agency authorized to conduct the Civil Services Examination, Engineering Services Examination, Combined Defence Services Examination, National Defence Academy Examination, Naval Academy Examination and Combined Medical Services Examination.

Age Limit

• A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1 August 2013 i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2 August 1981 and not later than 1 August 1992 for Geologist, Group ‘A’ and Assistant Geologist Grade-I Group ‘B’ post.
• A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 35 years on the 1 August 2013 i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2 August 1978 and not later than 1 August 1992 for Jr. Hydrogeologist (Scientist B), Group ‘A’ post.
• A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1 August 2013 i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2 August 1983 and not later than 1 August 1992 for Assistant Hydrogeologists, Group ‘B’ Post.
• Age relaxation will be extended as per govt norms.

Educational Qualification

Master’s Degree in Geological Science or Applied Geology or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography.

Application Fee

• Candidates belonging to General/ OBC Category are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/ Master Credit/ Debit Card.
• SC/ ST/ PH/ Female candidates are exempted from payment of fee.

Selection Process

The candidates will be selected on the basis of performance in Written Examination, Physical and Medical Standard Tests or Personality/Interview Tests.

Physical Standards

Candidates should be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Geologists Examination 2013 as per the regulations specified by the commission.
