“Student Visa Day” was celebrated on 19 June 2014, where approx 800 applicants who aspire to pursue studies in United States got interviewed by US embassy in New Delhi. A "student visa day" was organized and students all dressed professionally donning US university logos attended the event, in which the embassy staff one by one interviewed those students who applied for visas to pursue higher education in America.
According to the embassy, at present around 1,00,000 Indian students are studying in the US, and since October 2013, 40% of US visa application as well issuances have gone up when compared to the same period in 2013.
According to the aspirants at the embassy, the flexible education system in the US is what attracted them.
During the event, the tips and information on academics and campus life were also provided to the applicants.
