The Vardhman Mahaveer Open University invited application for recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor in different disciplines such as Geography, Physics, Economics, Computer science and more. The candidates eligible for the post can apply through prescribed format before 31 August 2013. Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University was established on 23 July 1987 and was initially known as Kota Open University. It particularly focuss on the humanities, commerce, library science and informatics. The University includes among its aims the goal of seeking to educate those deprived under the conventional system of education.

Educational Qualification:

• Agriculture, food & diary Science: Masters Degree in Agriculture with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade and good academic record along with NET conducted by UGC/CSIR/ICAR similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET. 
• Geography: Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at 55% marks or an equivalent grade and good academic record along with NET conducted by UGC/CSIR/ICAR similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET.
• Physics: Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at 55% marks or an equivalent grade and good academic record along with NET conducted by UGC/CSIR/ICAR similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET.
• Economics: Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at 55% marks or an equivalent grade and good academic record along with NET conducted by UGC/CSIR/ICAR similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET.
• Computer science: B.E/B.Tech and ME/M.Tech in Computer Science with 1st class or an equivalent grade and good academic record.
• Mathematics: Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at 55% marks or an equivalent grade and good academic record along with NET conducted by UGC/CSIR/ICAR similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET.
• Sociology: Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at 55% marks or an equivalent grade and good academic record along with NET conducted by UGC/CSIR/ICAR similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET.
• Social Work: Masters Degree in Social work with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade and Good academic record along with NET conducted by UGC or similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET.
• Hotel Management: First class at Bachelors (03 year Degree or Diploma after 10+2 in HMCT) or equivalent and Masters Degree in Hotel management and catering Technology with 1st class or equivalent and good academic record either in Bachelors or Masters Degree Management or eight years experience.
• Education: Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade and good academic record along with NET conducted by UGC/CSIR/ICAR similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET. 
• Yoga and health department: Degree in Ayurved from a University established by Law or a statutory Board/ Faculty/ Examining Body of Indian medicine or its equivalent as recognized under IMCC Act 1970a). A first class post graduate degree in the Medicine as recognized by the ICCM Act 1970. 
• Sanskrit: Master Degree in Sanskrit with at least 55% marks.

Application Fee:

General/OBC candidates are required to pay fee of Rs 1000/-(Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PH) to the University’s Account Number 08952010000020 (Oriental Bank of Commerce, VMOU Branch) IFS Code ORBC0100895.

Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + AGP of Rs. 6000/-.

Selection Process:

Selection will be done on the basis of candidate’s performance in written exam and personal Interview.
