Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology Notified Recruitment for 3 Scientists Vacancies 2013

Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology (WIHG), Dehradun, an autonomous Institution of Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, invites applications for recruitment to the posts of Principal Scientist / Scientist ‘G’ and Scientist ‘F’ on temporary basis for the project titled “Centre for Glaciology at WIHG” either through Direct Recruitment or by Deputation, including short term contract. • Principal Scientist/Scientist ‘G’: 1 post
• Scientist ‘F’: 2 posts

Pay Scale

For Principal Scientist/Scientist ‘G’: Pay Band 4 of Rs. 37400 – 67000 + Grade Pay Rs. 10000 + admissible allowances.
For Scientist ‘F’: Pay Band 4 of Rs. 37400 – 67000 + Grade Pay Rs. 8900 + admissible allowances

Qualifications
For Principal Scientist/Scientist ‘G’: Doctorate in Earth Sciences or equivalent
In case of direct recruitment: At least 14 years of experience in research and development + High quality research publications + Experience in planning, administration and development of R&D organization.
In case of recruitment by deputation: Scientists or Technologists Possessing the educational qualifications and experience laid down for direct recruits

For Scientist ‘F’: Doctoral degree in Earth Science or equivalent
In case of direct recruitment:  At least 12 years of experience in research and development in academic Institutions + High quality research publications + Experience in planning, administration and development of R&D organization.
In case of recruitment by deputation: Scientists or Technologists possessing the educational qualifications and experience laid down for direct recruits

Age limit
For Principal Scientist/Scientist ‘G’: Not exceeding 52 years in case of direct recruits and 56 years in case of Deputation
For Scientist ‘F’: Not exceeding 50 years for direct recruits and 55 years in case of deputation

Period of Probation (for both the posts):
In case of Direct recruitment: One year
In case of Deputation: Up to 5 years or as decided by the Governing Body
