Answer: Trade and industry is growing rapidly in a developing country like India. In such a scenario, demand for CA is bound to increase. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India runs CA or chartered accountancy course in the country. This is a statutory body formed by an Act of Parliament.
At the entry level, Common Proficiency Test (CPT) has to be cleared. After this comes practical training level. Here, professional competency course comes in the first phase followed by the final course. CPT consists of two tests of objective type questions. The duration of each test is two hours. Provision of negative marking is also there.
In the entire course, apart from other subjects, training is provided on financial reporting, Auditing, Taxation, Corporate Law, System Control, Strategic Finance and advanced Management accountancy, etc. With article ship, the duration of the course is three and a half years. After completion of this course, you can work with Registered Audit firms, Law firms, Government organisations, banks, Chartered accountancy firms, Management consultancy firm etc.
