Adille Sumariwala appointed as the Chef-de-Mission for 2014 Asian Games

Adille Sumariwala, President of Athletics Federation of India (AFI), was appointed as the Chef-de-Mission for Asian Games on 18 August 2014.

Adille Sumariwala, President of Athletics Federation of India (AFI), was appointed as the Chef-de-Mission for Asian Games on 18 August 2014. He was appointed by Indian Olympic Association to represent India in the Asian Games 2014.

Sumariwala, former National sprint champion, is also the president of Maharashtra Athletics Association.  

2010 Asian Games
India won a total of 65 medals in the 2010 Asian Games that were held in Guangzhou, China. Twelve medals comprising of 5 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 5 bronze medals, came from athletics.

The medal tally of 2010 Asian Games was led by China.

2014 Asian Games
Asian Games 2014 will be held in the month of September at Incheon, South Korea. It is scheduled from 19 September 2014 to 4 October 2014 with total of 439 events.

The games will be governed by Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).
