Amarjit Chopra was appointed the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for the year 2010-11, by the Twenty-First Council on 12 Feb 2010. Chopra was previously the Chairman of the Accounting Standards Board, Auditing and Assurance Standards Board and Corporate Laws Committee. He was the technical advisor to international auditing and assurance standards boards, as an ICAI representative. The Twenty-First Central Council also elected Mr G. Ramaswamy as Vice-President of the institute, for 2010-11.
