Baba Kalyani was re-nominated as the Co-Chairman of the India-Japan Business Leader’s Forum (IJBLF.) The Ministry of Commerce and Industry appointed Kalyani as chairman of IJBLF on 26 August 2014. He is Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Forge Ltd.
The IJBLF members have accompanied Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his first visit to Japan. The five-day visit to Japan is scheduled to take place from 30 August to 3 September 2014
The forum has 15 members that include Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Bharti Enterprises head Sunil Bharti Mittal, HDFC Chairman Deepak Parekh, Infosys S. Gopalakrishnan, TCS CEO N. Chandrasekaran and Godrej Group Chairman Adi Godrej.
IJBLF is a forum to leverage the trade and investment between the two countries for greater co-operation between their businesses. IJBLF continue to strengthen the business processes and explore newer opportunities for both economies.
