Andhra Bank, South Indian Bank and Yes Bank were chosen for the Banking Excellence Award in the category of public sector banks, old private sector banks and private new generation banks respectively in an event organised by State Forum of Bankers' Clubs (SFBC) on 13 November 2010. Karur Vysya Bank and Jammu and Kashmir Bank were selected as the second and third best private sector bank respectively. Corporation Bank and Canara Bank stood at the second and third places in the public sector category respectively. SBFC had earlier selected NRI businessman and EMKE Group Managing Director M A Yousuf Ali as the ‘Businessman of the year’ for 2010. The awards were presented by Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan.
