A weeklong exhibition of handloom and handicrafts, Bihar Utsav-2011 of Bihar organised by the Bihar Government for the second consecutive year started in Delhi on 22 March 2011. Bihar Utsav-2011 organised to commemorate Bihar's 99th Foundation Day will give visitors a glimpse of the rich cultural and historical heritage of the State.
Eminent artistes of Bihar were roped in to showcase their talents during the three-day festivities at Poorva Sanskritik Kendra scheduled to begin on 23 March 2011. A three-day Bhojpuri film festival will be where popular, path-breaking films enjoyed by the Bhojpuri-speaking people will be screened. Authentic Bihar cuisine will be served to visitors. The programmes have been organised to encourage them to work for betterment of the State and also work towards national development.
The modern State of Bihar was carved out of Bengal Presidency on 22 March 1912.
