BJP membership drive: Sapna Chaudhary joins BJP

The BJP membership drive was launched in New Delhi on July 6, 2019 with Sapna Chaudhary joining the BJP in presence of senior BJP leaders. BJP leaders Manoj Tiwari and Shivraj Singh Chouhan were present among other BJP leaders. Sapna Choudhary is a popular Haryanvi dancer and a stage performer who entered the reality show Bigg Boss 11 as a commoner contestant but got much hyped when arrived back.

Sapna Chaudhary joined the party at a ceremony organised at the Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium. After joining BJP she said, “There was no need to think twice. I was highly impressed by their work…BJP is a great party and I have taken its membership.” The BJP's membership drive in Delhi will conclude on August 11. Earlier in March 2019 during Lok Sabha election campaign, Congress leaders had announced on Twitter that she had joined the party. Chaudhary, however, categorically denied it.

BJP’s Membership Drive

•    Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the membership drive of the ruling BJP from his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi recently.
•    The launch of the membership drive coincided with the 118th birth anniversary of the party’s founder, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
•    BJP has launched a mobile number, website and a form to become member of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).
•    One can join BJP after filling up a membership form available on www.narendramodi.in.
•    This form asks for basic information like Name, address, email ID, Social Category, photograph etc.
•    An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number, and after submitting all required information a membership card with membership number will be issued online.
