Tata Group company Croma and Snapdeal.com on 16 September 2014 tied up to sell electronic goods online. This omni-channel retail association will enable Croma and Snapdeal to leverage from each other's strengths.
Croma and Snapdeal already launched Lenovo tablets exclusively on the platform and announced special offers on the Karbonn Titanium S10 mobile phone.
Highlights of the deal
• Goods available at Croma stores will now also be made available for purchase through Snapdeal.com.
• Croma and Snapdeal.com will jointly work towards market development initiatives.
• Both the firms will collaborate on customer and vendor outreach programmes and category development.
• Both brands will work together for the exclusive launching of the products.
Omni-channel retail concept
The omni-channel retail concept is getting popularized in the market. In the beginning of September 2014, the Future Group announced an investment of 100 crore rupees to roll out its own omni-channel retail strategy over the next 18 months.
Even Shoppers Stop Ltd is in the process of drafting its omni-channel strategy which will be rolled out over the next 24 months. Omni-channel retail is undoubtedly the way forward in the Indian retail industry.
