Para athlete Preeti Pal has become the first Indian female athlete to win two medals in track and field events at either the Paralympics or the Olympics. Preeti Pal won the bronze medal in the 200m T35 race at the Paris Paralympics 2024. India has won a total of seven medals in the current Paris Paralympics with one gold medal, two silver and four bronze medals.

The Finance Ministry has recently granted 'Navratna' status to four public sector enterprises, SJVN, Solar Energy Corporation of India, NHPC and RailTel Corporation of India. Three of the four new Navaratna companies in India (RailTel, SJVN, and NHPC) are publicly traded. Navaratna companies can invest up to Rs 1,000 crore without prior government approval.

On the historic occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Supreme Court of India, President Draupadi Murmu unveiled the new flag and emblem of the Supreme Court during the closing session of the two-day National District Judiciary Conference. The flag bears the Sanskrit verse 'Yato Dharmastato Jayah', which means "Where there is Dharma, there is victory."

Athlete Nishad Kumar won the silver medal in the men's high jump T47 event at the Paris Paralympics 2024. Nishad, who finished second in Tokyo three years ago, produced his season's best with a jump of 2.04m to win the silver medal.  

5. (a) IIM- Amritsar

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is organizing a five-day Management Development Programme in partnership with Indian Institute of Management, Amritsar. This management development program is being organized from 2 to 6 September 2024. The programme involves elected representatives and officials of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) from ten states.

In a significant step towards economic development in the country, the central government has approved a Rs 2,817-crore Digital Agriculture Mission, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced. Another major scheme of Rs 860 crore for sustainable development of horticulture has been approved by the Cabinet.
