Novak Djokovic of Serbia has won the gold medal in men's singles tennis at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Djokovic defeated his Wimbledon rival Carlos Alcaraz on the courts of Roland Garros, Alcaraz won the silver medal. Djokovic won the bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He has also become the oldest gold medalist in tennis singles at the Olympics.

United States sprinter Noah Lyles won the gold medal in the men's 100m sprint at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In which Lyles was only 0.005 seconds ahead of Jamaica's Kishan Thompson. Lyles' time of 9.784 seconds edged out Thompson (9.789 seconds) by a whisker. USA's Fred Kerley won the bronze medal with a time of 9.81 seconds.

Tourism Minister, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat recently informed that as per the UNWTO Barometer for May 2024, there were 975 million international tourist arrivals worldwide in 2022, with India recording 14.3 million international tourist arrivals, representing 1.47 per cent of the international inbound tourism market share.

Union Communications Minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya released a set of four commemorative postage stamps to celebrate the ongoing 33rd Olympic Games in Paris. This program was organized in New Delhi. The event was also attended by 10m air pistol mixed team medallist Sarabjot Singh, steeplechase athlete Sudha Singh and former cricketer Aakash Chopra.

Veteran Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dancer Yamini Krishnamurthy has passed away. She was 84 years old. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed condolences to his family and fans. He was born on December 20, 1940 in Madanapalle in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh to Sanskrit scholar M Krishnamurthi. He was also awarded the Padma Vibhushan.
