Djokovic defeated his Wimbledon rival Carlos Alcaraz on the courts of Roland Garros, Alcaraz won the silver medal. Djokovic won the bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He has also become the oldest gold medalist in tennis singles at the Olympics.

Veteran Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dancer Yamini Krishnamurthy has passed away. She was 84 years old. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed condolences to his family and fans. He was born on December 20, 1940 in Madanapalle in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh to Sanskrit scholar M Krishnamurthi. He was also awarded the Padma Vibhushan.
