The Modi government at the Center on Wednesday approved a 3% increase in dearness allowance (DA) for central government employees and pensioners, which will be implemented before Diwali. Earlier the dearness allowance was 42%. With this 3% increase, Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief (DR) will reach 45% from July 1, 2024.

National Conference (NC) vice-president Omar Abdullah was sworn in as the new chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday (October 16, 2024) during a swearing-in ceremony in Srinagar. On this occasion, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, a prominent face from the Jammu region, was appointed as Deputy Chief Minister (DCM). The function was organised under the chairmanship of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

Starting from the 2024-25 academic session, this center will train trainers in digital skills.
