President Draupadi Murmu presented the 69th National Film Awards. R. 'Rocketry': 'The Nambi Effect' directed by Madhavan was awarded the Best Film Award. Alia Bhatt was given the Best Actress award for 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' and Kriti Sanon was given the Best Actress award for the film 'Mimi'. The award for the best entertainer has been given to the popular film 'R-R-R'.

Power and New and Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh has launched the EV-Ready India dashboard. According to the Ministry of Power and New and Renewable Energy, the dashboard is a free digital platform that will provide help in real-time electric vehicle related matters. The dashboard has projected a 45 percent increase in electric vehicles by 2030.

Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar unveiled the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Tao Dan Park, Vietnam. On this occasion, he said that the unveiling of the statue is a symbolic moment of friendship between India and Vietnam. Recently, S Jaishankar had unveiled a statue of Rabindranath Tagore in Vietnam itself. Vietnam is a Southeast Asian country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the third edition of the Global Maritime India Summit 2023 through video conferencing. This summit is being organized in Mumbai from 17 to 19 October. On this occasion, PM Modi also inaugurated the long-term blueprint of Blue Economy 'Amrit Kaal Vision 2047'. He also laid the foundation stone of Tuna Tekra 'All Weather Deep Draft Terminal' at Deendayal Port Authority.
5. (b) Cochin Shipyard Limited
The Defense Ministry has signed a contract with Kochi-based Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) at a total cost of Rs 313.42 crore. Under this, mid-life upgrade and revitalization of "INS Beas" will be done. After being upgraded, INS Beas will rejoin the Indian Navy by the year 2026.

The fourth Asian Para Games will be organized in Hangzhou city of China from 22 to 28 October. India will be represented in these games by a 446-member contingent including 303 athletes. Of the 303 players in the Indian team, 191 are male and 112 female players. In the recently concluded Asian Games, India had secured fourth place with 107 medals.
