The UN World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has confirmed a new maximum temperature record for the Antarctic of 18.3 degrees Celsius (64.9 degrees Fahrenheit).

Indian Army has inducted the first batch of 12 indigenously designed and developed Short Span Bridging systems into the Corps of Engineers. The system has been designed by DRDO and manufactured by L&T.

The central government's Subject Expert Committee (SEC) on July 1, 2021 denied permission to Dr. Reddy's Laboratories to carry out the Phase-III trials of ‘Sputnik Light’ in India. Sputnik Light is a new version of the Russian COVID-19 vaccine, Sputnik V.

Sputnik Light comprises the first dose component of the Russian vaccine, Sputnik V. Sputnik Light is a one-dose vaccine like the Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine. It was approved in Russia on June 2nd.
