The Delhi state government on 21 November 2011 decided to set up liquor shops at the lounge of IGI Airport terminal 3, Delhi to increase its revenue. The passengers arriving in Delhi by international flights will only have access to these shops.


The state government decided that there should be amendment to the Central Excise Act 2010, which will allow setting up liquor shops at airport. The IGI airport will be granted L-10 license for setting up of liquor shops at its lounge.
