About Good Governance Day
Good Governance Day was established in 2014 to honor former-Prime Minister Vajpayee by fostering awareness among the Indian people of accountability in governance.
As per the World Bank, the concept of Good Governance encompasses two fundamental elements-transparency and accountability- which are essential to make the processes of governance more citizen friendly.
To this achieve this end; the Government has been using Information and Communication technologies (ICTs) as a tool which is reflected in the recent initiatives like Digital India Programme.
