IBM announced on 21 Sept 2010 that it signed a 10-year business transformation and information technology (IT) services agreement with Jet Airways. The agreement valued at $62 million is expected to help Jet Airways achieve significant growth by aligning the company's IT with business strategy. IBM would as a part of the deal provide cutting-edge technology solutions to transform the airline's business areas such as airport operations, direct distribution and frequent flier programmes. IBM would provide all kind of IT infrastructure and application support services to Jet Airways like- employee transition, data centre operations, central helpdesk support, server and storage operations, and internet security services through the use of Tivoli suite, network management, SAP and other operating system. This engagement would enable Jet Airways to improve and integrate its IT systems so that it can deliver a highly differentiated customer experience and improve its operational efficiency.
