Lok Sabha Exit Polls 2024 Date and Time: The greatest celebration of the Indian democracy, i.e., general elections are coming to an end. With the conclusion of the seventh phase of the voting process the elections will be officially over. The counting of votes and the declaration of the result will be held on June 4 (Tuesday).
With the conclusion of polling on 57 parliamentary seats spread across seven states and the Chandigarh Union territory, all attention of the general public will be on the exit polls. These polls will predict which coalition of the parties have the most chance of winning the elections- the opposition INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) bloc led by Congress or the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
When and Where to Watch Exit Polls?
Election Commission of India (ECI) has barred the news media from releasing their exit polls before 6:00 PM on June 1. The polls will be coming only after 6:00 PM on various media platforms.
News networks will start airing their exit polls by 6:30 - 7:00 PM. Additionally, these will be live streamed on YouTube and other social media sites.
What are Exit Polls?
Exit polls provide insight into voter behavior during an election. These polls are conducted by various research organisations to predict which party is getting how many seats, or their vote share. These are determined by interviewing voters who are coming out of the polling booth after casting their votes. In addition, further computations involving voter data are taken into account.
Comparing to opinion polls which are computed before the starting of elections, exit polls are the post-election surveys of private organisations. No government system is involved in these surveys. It must be noted that the exit polls have often been proven wrong on the day of actual results. They are just a prediction on account of a small percentage of voters.
