In an attempt to break the Guinness World Record, 15,000 sanitation workers participated in a coordinated cleanup campaign on Monday throughout four Mahakumbh Nagar zones.
During the present Maha Kumbh Mela, the initiative has surpassed the previous record of 10,000 sanitation workers who took part in a similar drive in 2019.
Mahakumbh 2025: New World Record
Prayagraj Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani, Mahakumbh's Special Executive Officer Akanksha Rana, and a supervisory team from the Guinness Book of World Records were among the dignitaries that attended the celebration.
Chief supervisor and judge Rishi Nath, who traveled from London with his team to oversee the record attempt, made sure that all Guinness World Record regulations were followed.
Final Report Expected Soon
Each sanitation worker received a bracelet with a scannable code, which was utilized to track participation in real-time and ensure count accuracy. Officials attested to the fact that the necessary records, video footage, and other proof were being assembled for submission to the Guinness World Records team.
Within three days, the final validation report regarding the achievement of the record will be made public. "This attempt sends a powerful message of cleanliness from the holy land of Prayagraj to the world," Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani spoke about the event's significance. It emphasizes how crucial sanitation is for such a large gathering.
