The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) celebrated Baal Utsav as a part of Hausla-2017, a week-long festival organised by Women and Child Development Ministry for children living in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) across the country.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) celebrated Baal Utsav on 18 November 2017 as a part of Hausla-2017, a week-long festival organised by Women and Child Development Ministry for children living in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) across the country.

The programme saw participation from over 1000 children. It also saw participation from child artists, actors, theatre artists, musicians, members of WCD Ministry and NCPCR and several non-government organisations from Delhi and NCR region.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Virendra Kumar expressed happiness at the presence of such a large number of children and said that children are the key to success and development of the country.

He further urged all the CCIs to provide all the children living in the institutions with a family atmosphere to enable their growth and development.

WCD Ministry to host ‘Hausala 2017’ to celebrate Child Rights Week

The main objective behind conducting the programme was to promote child participation and showcase their talents in other creative activities.

The main attraction of the programme was an interactive session between the children and the dignitaries of the event. The question-answer session was coordinated by Yashwant Jain, Member of NCPCR.

Besides this, the programme included sports activities, cultural programmes by differently abled children and other singing and dancing performances.
