Noted Rajasthjani poet Girdhar Rathi was in March 2011 selected for the Bihari Puraskar for 2010 for his poetry collection, Anta Ke Sanshaya. Girdhar Rathi who was born in 31 August 1946, in Pipariya village of Madhya Pradesh is a critic, translator and editor apart from being a poet. Girdhar Rathi has published four volumes of poetry in Hindi.
The Bihari Puraskar instituted by the K. K. Birla Foundation in 1991, is only for Rajasthani writers and carries a citation, a plaque and prize money of Rs. 1 lakh. The selection for the award every year is carried out by a panel, currently headed by the former Rampuria College professor Nand Kishore Acharya.
