The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2024 was given to 17 children by President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday, December 26, in recognition of their outstanding accomplishments in seven different areas, including innovation, sports, the arts, and more. The event took place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi.

She stated, "The award winners will be enlightened citizens of the country when India celebrates its centenary of independence in 2047." She also highlighted their role in building a developed India.
Youngest Award Winner: Aneesh Sarkar
President Murmu specially mentioned Aneesh Sarkar from Kolkata, the youngest recipient of the award, who belongs to the playschool and nursery age group. She praised his achievements and noted that he has become the world's youngest award winner.
Hembati Nag's Inspiring Story
The President also recognized the accomplishments of 15-year-old Hembati Nag from Chhattisgarh, a region affected by Naxal violence. Despite losing her parents and facing numerous challenges, Hembati excelled in Judo at the national level through her determination, courage, and talent. President Murmu commended her for being an inspiration to others.
