Sportswear retailer Puma India Pvt. Ltd on 19 September 2014 appointed sales and retail head Abhishek Ganguly as the new Managing Director (MD).
His appointment came at a time when the brand is taking bold steps to be the fastest brand in the world. The brand recently launched the Forever Faster campaign.
Ganguly replaced Rajiv Mehta who was managing director at Puma India since 2005. Earlier in September 2014, Rajiv Mehta announced his exit from Puma India.
Abhishek Ganguly joined Puma India right at its inception in 2005 as a founding director. He spearheaded the sales and retail functions for the brand.

• Puma is estimated to be India’s second largest sportswear brand ahead of Nike India and behind market leader Adidas.
• The company opted for the hybrid retail model in India which is made up of franchises as well as owned-and-operated stores. As much as 15 per cent of its stores are owned-and-operated.
• Around 12 percent of annual revenue of Puma India comes from online platforms such as Myntra, Jabong and Flipkart.
• Puma India now has around 300 stores in 100 cities and towns.
