Raghav Chandra took charge as the Chairman of NHAI

Senior IAS officer Raghav Chandra on 31 August 2015 took charge as the Chairman of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Chandra succeeded Road Transport and Highways Secretary Vijay Chhibber.

Chandra is an IAS officer of the 1982 batch from Madhya Pradesh cadre. He has held several important positions in the central government and the government of Madhya Pradesh and has handled various crucial assignments in roads and transport sector in various capacities.

Earlier, he was the Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation and later served as the Joint Secretary of Highways in Union Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.

He has vast experience in field of urban development, commerce, industry, human resource development, finance and infrastructure development.
