Rajeev Suri appointed as President and CEO of Nokia Corporation

Rajeev Suri appointed as President and CEO of Nokia Corporation on 29 April 2014. The appointment was announced by the Nokia of Directors. He will take charges as President and CEO of Nokia on 1 May 2014. He is one of the few global bosses without a degree from a business school.


Stephen Elop and Risto Siilasmaa were serving as interim President and Interim CEO of Nokia respectively. He replaces both of them, now Stephen will return to Microsoft as the executive vice president of its device. Risto Siilasmaa will return on his original role as Chairman of Board of Nokia.

The US giant, Microsoft acquired on 25 April 2014 the Nokia’s handset business for 7.2 billion US dollar. The Microsoft acquired Nokia excluding:
• Factory at Chennai
• factory at Masan, South Korea

• Rajeev Suri, 46, studied Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology, India.
• Before to Nokia he worked for the ICL (India), the RPG Group and the Churchgate Group, Nigeria till 1995.
