REpower Systems SE won a Contract of supplying Wind Turbines in Canada

REpower Systems SE, a subsidy of Suzlon Group on 17 December 2012 announced that it has won a contract of supplying 51 wind turbines from wpd Europe GmbH, the subsidy of project developer wpd AG in Canada. REpower Systems also entered into a service and maintenance agreement (ISP) as a part of this contract and will serve for a total period of 15 years.

The MM92 turbines of REpower with a rated power of 2.05 MW would be installed in six different projects being developed at Springwood, Whittington, White Pines, Napier, Sumac Ridge and Fairview which is scheduled to be constructed and commissioned by 2014.

To expand its business presence in Canada and meet the requirements of Green Energy Act of the country, REpower also announced its plans of setting-up a new rotor blade manufacturing facility in Southern Ontario.
