Saina Nehwal lost World No. 1 ranking to Carolina Marin

According to the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings, Nehwal dropped to No. 2 spot in women’s singles with 81782 points.

Saina NehwalAce Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal on 22 October 2015 lost her World No.1 ranking to All England and World champion Carolina Marin of Spain. She lost her rank after making early exists from Japan Open and Denmark Open.

According to the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings, Nehwal dropped to No. 2 spot in women’s singles with 81782 points and is 1630 points behind Marin in women's singles. Both the players have reached the second round of the ongoing French Open Super Series.

Meanwhile, two-time World Championship bronze medallist PV Sindhu maintained her position at world number 13 after reaching her maiden Super Series final at Denmark Open.

Other Indian players who lost spots in singles ranking chart are Kidambi Srikanth (fell from fifth position to sixth), Parupalli Kashyap (fell from eighth position to 10) and HS Prannoy (fell from 16th position to 17).
