• Born in Malmo, Sweden in 1931, Ekberg won the Miss Sweden title in 1951.
• Ekberg’s first film was Abbott and Costello Go to Mars (1953) in which she played a role of guard on the planet Venus.
• Anita Ekberg was best known for her role as Sylvia in the 1960 Federico Fellini film La Dolce Vita that also won the Golden Palm at the 1960 Cannes Film Festival.
• Ekberg's famous movies were Paris Holiday (1957), Call Me Bwana (1963), Blood Alley (1955), Boccaccio 70 (1962) and Hollywood or Bust (1956).
